Financially supporting his mother and grandmother means working two jobs while trying to finish his college degree.

I actually got to see them interact with each other, get to know each other, and develop feelings for each other, and that made the sex scenes much sexier, imo. He says heiidi he thinks and does what he says he’s going to. I love big Italian families. Twitter Tumblr More Facebook Pinterest. View all 6 comments.

It seems like a solid plan, but nothing is simple when family is involved. Don’t worry, there was NO creepy daddy kink or anything like that. I liked the way that Vince grew and developed as the story progressed seeing him come to terms with his sexuality and while it was a struggle for him at times and he didn’t always do the vamily thing at first he still kept trying and it never felt like he was giving up on himself or on being with Trey in spite of what he thought he was risking and I loved that when Trey needed him the most he was there for him and while their relationship was definitely a work in progress neither of these men were afraid of a little hard work if it mafie having what they wanted.

One way this book impressed me was through the discussions of sexual identity and what it means to be a man surrounding Vinnie.

Another 5 star story by Heidi and Marie. This is the sort of gay-centric story that, with the right cast, could possibly make it into a mainstream crossover romance film.

Review: Family Man by Heidi Cullinan and Marie Sexton

This is such a sweet, slow-burn of a love story, beautifully crafted with the alternating points of view and all the fun glimpses of life in Chicago. Naturally, he runs smack into someone from the neighborhood. It was curl your toes sweetness.

Thanks for telling us about the problem. Trey takes one day at a time, afraid to hope, but he’s adorable and just need someone to take care of him for once, even if he refuses to admit it. Together they were good together. Trey was a very mature 25 year old and had been the main provider for his family for many years. Trey has no intentions of giving up his virginity though, no matter how strong the attraction is. But it is clear that the burden is taking an emotional toll. I knew that Vinnie and Trey had lucked out in the huge, Italian Catholic family!

Many gay erotica or romance novels fmaily incredibly misogynistic, pinning the problems of closeted gay men on their past relationships with women.

Both Vince and Trey, all their struggles and all their fears felt real to me. One that’s forged not only by blood, but also by love and acceptance. My only small issue was the POV sezton. So, all in all, I liked the story, and it made me think with both b likes and dislikes. So some folks might find this more of a bother than I did, but most of the time it worked out just fine.

Frankly, if the story had been told in just first person or third person, I would be giving this 5 stars. At his 25 years old he works two jobs, takes different classes and he takes care of his grandmother and alcoholic mother.

Their quiet chemistry had an innocence and a shyness to it, and I love love love that they actually dated say whuuuut? He’s had to be self-reliant his whole life because his mother is an alcoholic.

This story was the perfect familj of intrigue, angst, romance and just enough humor to balance out the underlying seriousness within the story. The Cuddling and Tenderness made this swoon-worthy. This novel made it clear that however a man has sex does not change his gender identity, which is an important point to make cuullinan so many people pass judgment.

I want more of a closureyou see. Harmon December 27, Trey is in his mid-twenties and struggling to hold down two jobs and go to school.
