Very easy to set and does several jobs from timer to intervals, to just a push button that works without the batteries. This feature is great for capturing lightning at night, for fireworks photography and for other similar long exposure uses including while using a black filter with an external timer.

Excellent camon Canon remote timer controller with battery and original box. The functionality provided by this simple, lightweight device is extremely useful, making it easily worth being part of any amateur or professional’s kit. Even a week without it was a pain.
Used exclusively for time lapses of events less than 30 times. For example, I put the interval time, exposure, and how many images I’d like to take, I’d plugged the Satechi in remotw it would just start taking photos randomly. If you need those kind of shots, or want to controler it take evenly spaced exposures starting at a pre-determined time, it is a good investment. The rear of the controller has a hole to keep the EOS-3’s remote control socket cap.
I used it to take some timed exposures last night and you can set the duration, hit start and then walk away because the timer will turn it off at the time set instead of you having to stop the exposure.
